Ian is used to being entertained by investors who are trying to win better tax brackets, or preferential zoning. Usually, they're trying to impress him with fancy dinners and Pokemon performances. This is the first time that he's ever been invited to the Safari Zone.

"So when do we start shooting?" Ian asks rather loudly from the back of the all-terrain truck. The crowd breaks out in guffaws, and he knows that he's with the right crowd.

"Patience, Mister Castilla-Somerville." The man is old, balding, and looks like he would know all about patience. "You would surely prefer to catch a single Dragonair over a dozen Magikarp."

Ian thinks that people who wait end up catching nothing at all. "I think this zone is alright. Pull over." He doesn't need Pokeblocks or fancy maps. He just needs to get in there. He stomps past the Doduo and the Gloom, both of which are quickly spooked by his approach. He's not interested in those. He's interested in the beasts that would stand their ground against him.
